- What
inspired you to write the series?
Superstitions about the number 13 led to some fun “what if”
questions. Few buildings have a 13th floor. It's considered bad
luck. Why? Would something unlucky live on that floor? Yet what if it wasn't
something unlucky, but something really good? I love to twist tropes and myths.
- Whose
story was the hardest to write?
THE MARQUIS was by far the hardest one to write. It took me
a few months to get the protagonist to talk to me. Marc isn't a chatty guy. He
grunts and growls a lot, but he'd rather I ignored him. Thankfully the other
characters in the story refused to let me do so.
- Whose
was the easiest to write?
THE ALPHA was the easiest to write. Stefanie has a strong
voice, and I love to write powerful women. I also adore geeky guys and
superheroes.
- What
was the last book you read?
By the time this interview is posted, I will have read
several more books! Yet today I finished THE SECOND SIGN by Elizabeth Arroyo. A
fantastic YA paranormal romance.
- Do you
have a favorite comfort read, if so what is it?
One series I read over and over is Harry Potter. I'm in love
with the world and the characters. There's definitely magic in those pages.
- Do you
have any upcoming projects?
I'm not certain what I'm going to do next. I have a few
manuscripts that I would like to revise and query. A paranormal romance with
witches, a superhero romance, and another paranormal with demons and vampires.
Also, since NaNoWriMo isn't that far away, I might write a new urban fantasy
where the geeky underdogs become the heroes.
