Author Interview & Giveaway with CS Dorsey

Please help me welcome C.S. Dorsey author of The Unsacred Gift, a Young Adult Paranormal Romance! This blog tour is apart of my sister site, ABG Reads Book Tours.

What made you start writing?

My first book was something that just happened all of a sudden. Like many authors you hear voices, and up until now I thought I was alone when it came to hearing voices, but I found out that I am not. So there is no need to be admitted into the asylum.
The idea of writing a book was a nice though, but I didn’t think I would be able to do something so great. The character (Sissy) just started talking to me while I was at work. I wasn’t on any type of drugs or anything, and I haven’t taken a Motrin that day, so I didn’t have anything to blame the hearing voices on. The voice wouldn’t go away, it just told me to write everything down. I didn’t want any trouble so I did what it said. It was kind of eerie but fun :)

Who are your top five favorite heroes?
My favorite heroes in general are: Jacob (Twilight Saga), Iron Man, Spiderman (the latest movie), Wolverine (X-Man), and Thor :)

What where the challenges in writing The Unsacred Gift?
You knew everything thing flowed and came into place. So I really didn't have any challenges in writing this book. It was like writing down everything someone says in a interview. The challenge came after I finish and that was the editing the book.

What character was the hardest to write?
I think uncle Tyler was the hardest to write. Even though he did not have very many parts in the book, it was hard to figure out what I wanted him to do. Since he was not going to be that much involved, I created a career for him to give and reason why he was not around much.

What did you learn from writing The Unacred Gift?
Wow! I have never been asked that. Uhmm...I learned that sometime dreams can come true...literally. If you read the book you will find out that dreams can come true and they are real...LOL! :)

How did you come up with the idea for the cover of the book?
The first edition of the book I created myself. When I finally got a cover artist (indiedesignz.com) for the Lukos Trilogy I though about changing the cover so that it will be more attractive. I always had the vision in mind of a eye. I wanted to be dripping in blood but I had enough books that had a blood theme...LOL! I told her what I wanted and she executed it very well :)

Is there a message you want your readers to come away with after reading the book?
Yes, the message I want my readers to understand is if you have a gift never be afraid to embrace it. It’s ok if you have visions or dreams (dreams that makes sense). Some people have those types of gifts in reality. Remember dreams do come true :)
