Author Interview with Misty Evans & Entangled Giveaway!

Please help me welcome one of my favorite Paranormal Romance authors, Misty Evans to A Buckeye Girl Reads to talk about Entangled, a new Anthology she is apart of with a host of other authors. (My review of it will be up soon.)

Thank you, Colette, for inviting to your blog today to talk about Entangled!

Can you tell us about Entangled?
Entangled includes ten suspense-filled paranormal stories from yours truly as well as authors Cynthia Eden, Jennifer Estep, Lori Brighton, Michelle Diener, Nancy Haddock, Liz Kreger, Dale Mayer, Michelle Miles, and Edie Ramer, plus a brand new Seven Deadly Sins novella by Allison Brennan. Stacia Kane contributed the foreword and the book’s formatting and cover art were also donated to the project by Lori Devoti and Laura Morrigan. All proceeds from the sale of Entangled will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Are the stories connected?
The anthology has a Halloween theme, so the stories all have Halloween elements in them. Ghosts, black cats, witches, trick-or-treating, you name it, it’s in there!

 Are they all one genre?
All the stories paranormal, but some are heavier on suspense, while others have more romance.

How did you all come up with the decision to do this book? Who initiated it and how did you all get together?
Edie Ramer came up with the idea to do an anthology, and over three or four emails earlier this year, we decided to do a paranormal anthology of short stories and have the proceeds go to breast cancer. We started inviting authors whose books we enjoyed and the response was amazing. I’m a huge fangirl of Stacia Kane and Jennifer Estep, so I was bowled over when they got on board. Now I’m a fangirl of all the authors! But, shh, don’t tell!

Can you tell us a little about the Breast Cancer Research Foundation?
BCRF-funded research has helped save lives and improved the quality of care and rate of survival for tens of thousands of breast cancer patients in the past decade. Their research has revealed that the "cure" is a mosaic made up of as many approaches to diagnosing, treating, preventing and surviving as there are different types of breast cancer. The anthology is also a mosaic made up of many stories donated for this worthwhile cause.

Is there a time limit on purchasing Entangled so the proceeds go to the BCRF?
Entangled will available for at least a year and all proceeds will go to BCRF, no matter when it’s purchased. After a year, if it’s still selling well, we’ll keep it available, and again, all proceeds will go to BCRF.

How much does the ebook cost?
Entangled is discounted to $2.99 during September and October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. After that the price will go up to $3.99

Can people donate to the cause even if they can’t or don’t want to purchase Entangled?

Absolutely. Go to  http://www.bcrfcure.org to make a donation in your name, or in the name of someone you know who’s been touched by breast cancer.

What do you enjoy about writing paranormal stories? (answered by several Entangled authors)

Nancy Haddock: I have a blast writing paranormal stories because the possibilities of playing "make-believe" are endless! I can feature any creature, build the kind of world I want my character to inhabit, and let 'er rip.

Dale Mayer: I love having the freedom to let my imagination fly - to create without being restricted by the constraints of the human body, society as we know it and the world as we live in it today.

Allison Brennan:
I love taking the world as we know it and layering supernatural elements
so the world is both the same, but different. Is it any wonder that SUPERNATURAL is one of my favorite shows? Hmm, maybe that has to do more with Sam and Dean Winchester. :) Also, since I write crime fiction, being able to change it up with something different and fun satisfies my muse, who gets bored writing the same types of stories all the time.

Liz Kreger: As a writer, what I enjoy most about writing paranormal is that you make the rules.  In your world, it doesn't matter if your vampire can withstand sunlight and not burst into flames.  If you make it believable, the reader will buy into it.  Your world-building ... your rules.  You just have to stay true to them. As a reader, I find the many avenues taken by authors fascinating. Shifters, angels, demons, vampires ... whatever.  If an author can give a common story a new twist and make it believable, I'm in there.

Michelle Miles: I love writing paranormal because I love the idea that magic really does exist, there are hunky men out there with pointed ears who call themselves faeries, that good conquers evil. I love paranormal - writing and reading - because I like escaping to another world, even if it does resemble our everyday world.
