Review & Giveaway Fallen by Laury Falter

Title: Fallen
Author: Laury Falter
Genre: YA/Fantasy
Publisher: Self
Source: TLC Blog Tour

Maggie is unaware of the terrifying fate that awaits her. It isn’t until she lands in New Orleans for a full year at a private high school and her unknown enemies find her does she realize that her life is in danger.

As a mystifying stranger repeatedly intervenes and blocks the attempts on her life, she begins to learn that there is more to him than his need to protect her and that he may be the key to understanding why her enemies have just now arrived.

I really enjoyed Fallen by Laury Falter. It had suspense,  lots of action  and the mystery.   Maggie moves to New Orleans to stay with a friend of her aunts because her aunt is going overseas on a photoshoot. She and her aunt have never stayed in one place more then 3 months. Staying places in such a short of amount of time makes it hard for Maggie to make friends. She's not happy about this latest move, but once she hits New Orleans she falls in love with the city.

Her aunts friends whom she is staying with are quirky, and try to set some ground rules for Maggie-which she isn't used to at all. However, they all slowly worm their way into her heart. Maggie is afraid to get close to people because of her gift-she's afraid they'll think she's just too weird.  She's able to deliver messages to the dead.  She doesn't know why she has this gift, and she wishes it would just go away.  However, mysterious forces are after her, and a mysterious cute boy, Eran keeps showing every time her life is in danger.  Maggie tries to figure out just who Eran is and  the other kids in school who give her a creepy feeling in and how everything fits together with her gift.

The only problem I had with this book were the names. All of the names except for Maggie were unusual, (i.e Ezra, Eran, Gershom)  which isn't bad, it just made it hard to keep track of for some reason.   Despite the names though, I really enjoyed the romance of this book and can't wait to see where it goes in book 2.
